ACEO stands for Art Card, Editions and Originals. They are an offshoot of the Artist Trading Card (ATC) which some believed starting trading in Zurich, Switzerland in 1997.
These cards are art miniatures showing various styles from an artist's portfolio. They can be displayed on easels, in a trading card scrapbook, framed, or just kept in small protective sleeves. ACEOs can be original, or be offered in small, limited editions (likely less than 50 pieces) The only "rule" is that they are the traditional trading cardsize of 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
ATC's are traditionally traded person to person, hand to hand while ACEO cards are commonly sold directly by the artist. ACEO's are a wonderful way to build a collection of art miniatures from a wide range of emerging artists at a fraction of the price of a large-scale original.
I recently relisted 3 of my minimalist landscape ACEO cards. Each is printed in a limited edition of 45 cards.
All are available matted and shipped with a display easel for $10.00, or as the card in a protective sleeve for $4.00. See my etsy shop for all ACEO images currently available for purchase. Also, if you are interested in having an ACEO print made of any of my current or past works, just send me an email. I'd be happy to offer it in print form if requested. Larger-sized prints are also available.
