3 new paintings added to the Singular Beauty Tree Paintings.

Three new paintings added to the "Singular Beauty" tree landscape series which feature a solitary tree in a colorful minimalist abstract landscape setting. The pieces are done on 8x8 MDF artists' panels that are pre-drilled with nail holes. These smaller wood panels can be displayed alone, but would also look great clustered with others in the series. Custom requests are also welcome.

3 New Framed Tiles : Midas, Eternal Sunshine and Bank Run ....just added

Title: Oh No! It's a bank run!
This design was originally created for an 'emergency-themed' contest. The current financial woes made me think of Bank Runs and I then 'running banks'. So, that's how the piggy bank run came to be. Oh No! It's a bank run! Run little piggies! Run!

Title: Inspired by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Design inspired by one of my favorite movies "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".
Negative, hurtful, painful or scary images on the left are cleansed by the spotless mind leaving only the happy, sunshiney images on the right...gumdrops, kittens, rainbows, balloons, puddles, sunbursts, flowers and more.

Title: King Midas

The story of King Midas and his golden touch. The design shows that the oak twig and stones were one of the first things Midas touched to turn to gold. Then the realization that his beloved daughter and roses would also turn to gold upon his touch. The rivers where the 'curse' was removed and the subsequent golden sand and golden nuggets are also represented.

Turning rusted Garbage into Fine Art

Landfillart is an international effort encompassing
one-thousand-forty-one (1,041) artists to claim a piece of rusted
metal garbage and create fine art.

I learned of this project from an artist (Helen Meyers) who is currently in a group
exhibition with me and I am so excited to be part of the reclamation art project.

The reclaimed hubcap (aka 'metal canvas') is on its way to me right now. Can't wait to see it and get inspired for the painting. 200 of the 1041 hubcaps will tour nationally and inspire other groups to also get involved with the reclamation project. Currently there are two museums that have already expressed interest in the project.

Great project and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.

So, in honor of the inauguration events today, I have modified this design to include the entire US. The title is "We are All Part of a Bigger Pattern"...and I think it is a perfect sentiment for the current atmosphere under our new President and the call for a unified nation.

Shakti : Goddess of Energy - Framed Art Tile

Shakti: Energy Goddess

(description with help from wikipedia)

Shakti is the Hindu Goddess of Energy. I've portrayed her in this design with the 7 Chakras (Energy Centers) of the Body. These 7 chakras are aligned along the vertical axis of the body from the base of the spine to the crown of the head and identify major branchings of the human nervous system. These energy centers are each symbolized through different colored circles or spheres and different numbers of petals of a lotus flower. The Shakti Goddess is also portrayed in the design with her "Kundalini" - a snake. Kundalini in Sanskrit means snake and it refers to the spiritual energy within every human being that lies 'coiled like a snake' at the base of the spine. It is believed that through meditation, this snake is awakened and moves through the seven chakras, unleashing energy as it passes, and culminates at the crown of the head where spiritual knowledge and power are achieved (as shown though the sunburst detail in the background of the design.)

This design was originally done as a graphic for a tshirt. It is now available in print form on a variety of items in my etsy shop. The framed tile shown here is available for $18.00 with free shipping.

Thank you for taking a look!

Today's featured product. Wright's Dragonfly - A tribute to Frank Lloyd Wright Light Panels and Stained Glass

I'm a huge fan of Frank Lloyd Wright designs. Although many of his designs are done in earthy warm hues, he did create a few very bright stained glass panels for schools and other establishments. This framed tile pays tribute to Frank Lloyd Wright by showing two dragonflies done in a stained glass style. The original design was made for a tshirt and was printed in 2008 by Teefury.com. I currently have this design as a framed tile (as shown here), as an ACEO artist trading card, or as a matted ACEO with easel. Image can be created in larger sizes per request.

Thank you for looking at my featured product of the day. Please click here for more framed tiles similar to the one featured here, or visit my etsy storefront for a wide-range of artwork and gifts.
